FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does my character get to Aisling Isle?
That's entirely up to you. If your character would choose to come to Aisling Isle, then they can have received an anonymous gift which will transport them there and will have plenty of documentation about the resort and how it works for the character to peruse. Once they've decided they'd like to come, the rest will be taken care of for them and they will arrive in the lobby of the hotel a few seconds later with their bags already packed with everything they would have normally packed on their own; nothing has been forgotten. What kinds of things are there to do here?
If you don't think your character would choose to go but you'd still like to play them, then they can be jam-jarred by the pocket vortex. Again, their bags will be packed thoroughly for them and they will arrive in the lobby of the hotel. In this instance, they will be greeted by the hotel manager who will explain the situation to them, apologize for the inconvenience, and assure them that no stone is being left unturned in an attempt to navigate them back home as soon as possible. The manager will urge them to try to be patient and relax in the mean time and suggest that they read the literature about the Sophrosyne Archipelago. They'll encourage your character to make friends, if possible, take advantage of the accommodations, be kind to, affectionate with, and/or fornicate with other guests as often as possible to encourage good vibes which will hopefully expedite the solution to their issue, and hang tight while they work toward a solution. If your character is to become irate or destructive, they will be sedated and taken with their belongings to their room.
With that in mind, it would be beneficial for visitors who have chosen to arrive at the resort to try to help assuage some of the involuntary visitors' upset in any way that they can in order to continue to retain pleasant weather on the islands.
For characters who arrive without their own internet-capable devices or who do not own internet-capable devices, they will be issued a bracelet and will be taught how to use it.
The world is your oyster! The settings page will give you a general idea of the aesthetic of the islands, the hotel, the resort itself, transportation options, and your character's room. The rest is entirely up to you! World-building by way of exploration is highly encouraged. If you'd like your character to discover something that you think should go on the settings page (a sunken ship, a hot spring, a town with vacant homes, etc), please send the mod a private message with the image you'd like incorporated and any quick little blurb about the location, and I'll be happy to add it to the settings page for you so everyone can enjoy it!All the literature explains the chemosignals reacting with the atmosphere, but how does my character know that's true?
As stated, there have been centuries of research put into studying this phenomenon and if your characters ask the front desk, they'll be directed to the archives section in the library in the hotel on its first floor. In there, your character will find both hard and digital copies of all of the study results should they feel inclined to peruse them. What kind of characters are allowed here?
Canon, AU, CRAU, and OCs are all permitted. Please refer to the rules page for details surrounding this.So what's eCuddle, exactly?
Villains are allowed, but they may prove difficult to play in this setting, so choose them wisely. If a villain does something villainous that affects another character (killing someone, holding someone against their will, assaulting someone), they will be put on a timer. After thirty days from the incident in question, the villain will be sent home by the pocket vortex, whether they wish to leave or not. Exceptions can be made, but will be made only on a case by case basis and after OOC discussion between the mod and all involved parties.
Children are not permitted as playable characters at Aisling Isle, at this time. This is subject to change, as well, and changes will be announced to the players via ooc community should they occur. NPC children in tow with their playable character parents are permitted, however, keep in mind that you'll be expected to NPC those children. This means that if your character wants to go out, they'll either have to bring their children with them or get themselves a sitter. Aisling Isle is an adult resort though, keep in mind, so there's little to nothing about it that would be child-friendly. It's probably best to leave your kids at home unless you have no choice.
eCuddle is a mobile app that helps characters to connect with one another virtually in a Tinder-esque way. Please click the link to learn more about the app specifically.I have another question that wasn't answered here...
No problem! Drop a line to the mod by private message and I'll be happy to answer it for you. If it seems like something that more people might ask in the future, I will add it to this FAQ for everyone to see.
